Seminar: Next Generation Brighton Collaboration Case Definition Service: Responding to Real-World Evidence and Pandemic Preparedness

 

We are pleased to have invited Dr Wan-Ting Huang to speak at the upcoming seminar

In the seminar “Next Generation Brighton Collaboration Case Definition Service: Responding to Real-World Evidence and Pandemic Preparedness” jointly organised by the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H), the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the HKU Centre for Safe Medication Practice and Research, we invited Dr Wan-Ting Huang, MD, Evaluation Lead of Safety Platform for Emergency vACcines (SPEAC), shared with the audience the Brighton Collaboration case definitions. She illustrated their utility using cases from both high- and low-resource settings, discussed tools for AESI validation, and necessary adaptations and improvements.

Dr Huang is a physician with education and training in pediatrics and infectious diseases in Taiwan. She has worked at the U.S. CDC’s Immunization Safety Office as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer. Additionally, she holds adjunct faculty appointments at the National Taiwan University College of Public Health and Children’s Hospital.

The seminar was moderated by Professor Francisco Lai, Co-Principal Investigator of the D24H and Assistant Professor of the HKU Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy.
