D²4H organised the “AI and Big Data Research for Health Improvement Symposium – Panel Discussion”
In collaboration with the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy of The University of Hong Kong (HKU), HKU Musketeers Foundation Institute of Data Science, The Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry and the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), the Laboratory of Data Discovery for Health (D24H) organised the “AI and Big Data Research for Health Improvement Symposium – Panel Discussion” on August 31, 2022. The event carried the theme – “Future of Big Data Application for Public Health in Hong Kong”, and we were pleased to have about 120 participants taken part in the event through physical participation at HKSTP and online over ZOOM.
During the event, two discussion sessions titled “ Ethics and compliance framework” and “Facilitate infrastructure for effective application of big data in HK and beyond” respectively were moderated by Dr Esther Chan and Dr CL Cheung, Co-Principal Investigators of the D24H. 10 panellists from academia, industry and the HKSAR Government were invited to speak in the panel discussions and share their insights on how research on big data analytics and AI technologies help protect and improve healthcare quality.
